Findings are problems in processes and workflows that represent improvement and process optimization opportunities.   Findings can be created once one or more filters, constraints or discovery rules are applied, or they can be loaded from Automated Findings that have been previously saved or provided by the Process Optimizer for Jira application.   Both Generic and Issue type specific Automated Findings can be loaded into a Process Model via the Process Optimizer.

To create a finding based on filters, constraints and/or discovery rules that have been applied, access the Process Miner background context menu by right clicking.  The 'Findings' option will be available which will display a modal to save the finding.

If Automated Findings have not already been loaded and saved, select the 'Load Generic Fundings' and/or the 'Load Issue Type Findings' buttons.  This will load and process the related Automated Findings

Options include;

Process

This will apply the filter, constraint and or discovery rules defined in the finding to the underlying event log data, enabling you to use the Process Miner to examine issues related to the finding

Save Automated Finding

The finding defined in the Process Model using the Process Miner can be saved as a ‘Issue Type’ or ‘Generic’ Automated Finding for use in other Process Models.

Insights

The issues associated with a finding can be further analysed by the Insight visualizations including Clusters, Influence Analysis, Decomposition Tree, Time in Activity and Histogram.

Edit

The name of the finding can be edited. Note that to change the definition of a finding within a Process Model, it needs to be deleted then recreated

Delete

Delete the finding from the Process Model. If the Finding was loaded from Automated Findings, this will not delete the underlying Automated Finding.

Important - please ensure that if you want to save findings to a Process Model you must save the model via the 'Save Model' quick link
